Preparation
- Vehicle safety: Make sure the vehicle is secured in Park (P), completely deactivated (ignition/system off), and that the ventilation/air conditioning is switched off.
- Protection & hygiene: Place a mat or cloth under the work area to catch falling dirt. Safety glasses and a respirator mask will protect you from falling dust and pollen. It is best to have a vacuum cleaner ready to vacuum out the housing before installation.
- Lighting: Since the installation location is usually dark, we recommend a headlamp or flashlight for the best possible visibility.
- Tools: No tools are required for the replacement.
- Access: The filter is located in the passenger footwell, on the left next to the center console. Slide the seat all the way back and recline the backrest far to create as much working space as possible.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Locate the housing in the footwell
Look in the passenger footwell, on the left next to the center console trim. There you will see the vertical plastic cover of the filter housing. -
Open the filter housing cover
Press the retaining tab on the underside of the slot cover upward/together and remove the cover. -
Remove the old filter
Pull the old, flexible cabin air filter downward and backward out of the slot. -
Insert the new filter
If necessary, gently pre-bend the new cabin air filter and carefully slide it into the vertical slot.↔ Airflow: The arrows on the side of the filter must point backward (toward the rear)!
💡 Pro tip: Gently compress the filter in a harmonica-like manner along the long sides as you insert it - it will unfold completely flush again by itself inside the slot!
-
Close the housing
Attach the top housing cover and press it firmly until the retaining tab audibly and noticeably clicks into place.
